JOB SUMMARY:
The Director, Global Forecasting will be responsible for developing and managing the forecasting process at BioCryst by developing, modeling, and applying analytical and market research methodologies to deepen insights and inform business decisions. The Director, Global Forecasting will be a key member of teams responsible for the development and execution of BioCryst’s global strategy and will include internal and external analysis to assist in the growth of its rare disease portfolio. The role will have responsibility for developing innovative approaches to gathering and sharing forecasts and key insights that are driving BioCryst’s growth of its rare disease portfolio. #LI-Remote
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead global forecasting efforts for approved products and late-stage clinical assets for both yearly goal-setting and long-range planning
- Partner with Global Market Insights and US, EU, and International Data Operations to integrate data, analytical methods, and insights to help inform commercial forecasting and measure forecast accuracy
- Partner with clinical operations to forecast clinical trial enrollment and timing. Develop tools to measure against forecast
- Lead monthly forecast alignment meetings for in-line products with senior leadership to align on impact of recent sales and market data and understand potential scenarios for forward-looking periods
- Develop, monitor, and maintain business analytics tools to inform company on performance to forecasts and key drivers to inform decision making with cross-functional partners: sales, marketing, supply chain, market access, and finance
- Support US, EU and International Markets forecasting to inform short- and long-term planning, milestone decisions, strategic decisions, and business development opportunities in addition to analysis by performance data and market trends against forecasted expectations.
- Develop, as needed, models and forecast to support go/no-go decisions for early-stage pipeline assets, business development, and portfolio prioritization
- Develop effective forecasting models for use as planning tools for S&OP with Supply Chain. Provide strategic input and insights to ensure appropriate planning for supply across the US, EU, and International Markets.
- Partner with Global Market Insights and Advanced Analytics to employ new data sources, creative methodologies & strategies to improve forecasting
- Partner with US, EU, and International Markets Data Operations to continually refine data and system needs and monitor performance and share results with the field organization, marketing, finance, and other internal stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of data and deliverables
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- 7 years of experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical, or related industry is required, with experience in analytics-based roles, forecasting, and/or finance
- Rare disease experience is a plus
- Experience developing forecast models and conducting rigorous quantitative analyses
- A proven track record of helping to translate the analytical output into real business impact and of taking a creative approach to problem solving
- Knowledge of financial reporting needs
- Experience managing projects and vendors
- Ability to work collaboratively and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to quickly develop ad hoc analyses requested by leadership teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations to senior leadership
