FLSA Status: Full Time / Exempt

Pay Range: $149,000 to $152,000 Annually (dependent on experience/qualifications). Salary is based on Signal Hill, CA location, and will be adjusted for candidates in other states if required.

Job Purpose: Under general direction of the Operations Manager, the Procurement Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and clients to lead procurement strategies and execution. This role is responsible for vendor sourcing and management, logistics and expediting to ensure timely delivery of high-quality goods and services at optimal costs. As a part of this position the Procurement Manager will cultivate partnerships with best in-class vendors while maintaining strong working relationships.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive procurement strategy for products and services, aligned with BGE’s overall objectives, including analyzing market trends, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and leveraging technology advancements
  • Collaborate with internal and client stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements, project schedules, and align procurement strategies accordingly, while providing updates, guidance and support to all stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services
  • Sources, evaluates, and selects vendors / suppliers through a documented process based on predetermined criteria, including quality, pricing, delivery, and sustainability while maintaining positive working relationships with selected vendors and suppliers
  • Negotiates contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions to obtain the best value for BGE, while continuously assessing vendor performance and ensuring compliance with established service level agreements
  • Manages inventory of all goods and services purchased and maintains accurate purchase price records
  • Designs, maintains, and enforces efficient procurement processes and procedures, including standards for vendor selection, vendor audits / evaluations and performance measurements
  • Continuously streamlines purchasing workflows to optimize efficiency and minimize risks
  • Monitors expenditures and identifies cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, competitive bidding, and volume discounts where applicable
  • Leads vendor contract reviews, ensuring legal compliance, while maintaining a contract repository and monitoring contract renewal dates
  • Manages contractual differences between purchase order requirements and supplier performance as required
  • Ensures awareness and understanding of the company’s/project’s quality requirements, ensuring all vendors/subcontractors comply with the Quality Systems manual, Operating, Testing and Technical Procedures and workplace instructions
  • Identify process problems and concerns and makes recommendations for innovative solutions and corrective actions to achieve desirable results, helping the company better manage the cost of Equipment and supplier services
  • Provides support as necessary for global sourcing and special projects
  • Identifies and mitigates procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues and security vulnerabilities, while implementing risk assessment methodologies and developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity and compliance with government laws (domestic / international), regulations and company policy
  • Stays updated with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies related to procurement, while continuously looking for opportunities for process improvement, automation, and digital transformation
  • Responsible for implementing new tools and / or systems to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness as required
  • Ability to travel as necessary, with the ability to obtain a Passport to travel outside the United States
  • These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years working in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management or similar experience
  • Minimum 3 years as a manager
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management
  • Comprehensive proficiency in procurement processes, policies, tools, and best practices
  • Superb negotiation skills, with the ability to continually network, build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, BGE team members and clients to drive tasks to completion
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and demonstrated use of thought leadership to set and execute procurement strategies
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate with team members at all levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Solid understanding of contracts, compliance requirements, and domestic and international government laws pertaining to procurement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and use of ERP systems
  • High degree of motivation, strong influencing skills, and a self-driven approach
  • Demonstrated capability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure with minimal guidance in order to meet tight deadlines•

Background Check: Employment will be dependent on candidate successfully passing a background check.
