We are looking for a Data Architect to join the growing BioMADE Technology & Innovation team. Reporting to the Senior Director of Data Science, this person will design, model, and deploy the Digital Backbone’s data model to BioMADE’s 200 member organizations. You will work with the rest of the Technology team to provide a unified computational infrastructure for bioproduction-centered collaboration across industry, academia, and the Department of Defense. The ideal candidate is a strong architect who has experience modeling and deploying both streaming and relational data sets.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Scope, architect, and build out the Digital Backbone’s data model and ETL framework.
  • Understand and define the processes of data management including cleaning, mapping, mastering, deduping, QA, and governance.
  • Define canonical data formats to normalize data views across multiple similar input sets.
  • Define schemas and ETL patterns to secure and share data of multiple formats across multiple parties.
  • Create upleveled and metadata schemas to allow longitudinal views of multiple similar input sets.
  • Manage stakeholder relations and requirements with staff and members of BioMADE.
  • Mentor and lead junior members of the team.
  • Present solutions and findings to stakeholders and members at all levels within BioMADE.

 

Other duties may include

 

  • Managing a team of data professionals.
  • Roadmapping, drafting technical specs, and overall project scoping.
  • Creating and updating internal system documentation.
  • Reviewing and implementing data systems and infrastructure.
