What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at bioLytical?

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Production Manager is responsible for managing production resources, planning and execution of the Master production schedule. You are pivotal in ensuring timely production of our test kits to reach customers and markets.


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

  • Supervise production team to manage and execute production projects.
  • Coordinate with sales department to develop project plan and timelines.
  • Work with the team to plan, schedule and perform production activities.
  • Assign daily workload to team members.
  • Develop production program and guidelines to support company objectives.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance production quality and capacity.
  • Organize job trainings to team members to achieve production goals.
  • Investigate production issues and develop resolutions.
  • Determine equipment, material and manpower requirements for project execution.
  • Recommend cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluation, promotion, retention and termination activities.
  • Monitor production activities and adjust schedules for on-time delivery.
  • Ensure that final product meets quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Ensure that team follows company policies and safety standards.

 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in production planning or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 5 years managerial experience in production management.
  • Experience in a biomedical manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge in production and manufacturing processes and techniques for medical diagnostic devices.
  • Experience with health and safety standards and compliance.
  • Experience and knowledge of human resource principles and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • A working knowledge of ERP systems and ERP data requirements.
  • Familiar with the principles, requirements and practices of biomedical manufacturing quality control, QSRs and product development process.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing skills.
  • Must be highly flexible and have the ability and willingness to take responsibility to ensure tight deadlines are met.
