Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Frankfort, Kentucky
Salary: $65-75K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Field Service Technician:
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician who can work independently and effectively communicate with customers. The ideal candidate will have the ability to write technical reports and provide recommendations for product improvement to the Engineering team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications of the Field Service Technician:
Minimum of 5 years experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
Electronics or Electrical certificate or degree
Ability to travel 70% of the time (both domestically and internationally)
Proficient in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
Highly preferred knowledge of PLC's
Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Clean driving record
No fear of heights
Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity required. Highly preferred experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms.
Must currently hold or be able to obtain a valid passport (with proper documentation to travel into and outside of the United States)
Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician:
Frequent interaction with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
Assist in coordinating site visits and final equipment installations
Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment onsite and remotely
Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations
Ensure the proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines
Travel to customer sites for final commissioning and equipment demonstrations
Assist with clearing punch list items and meeting project requirements
Provide technical training to end-users and maintenance personnel
Provide on-site technical support and troubleshoot issues
Coordinate all details of site visits and travel arrangements
Directly support customers, contractors, sales, and engineering for testing and field service activities
