Job description

Currently seeking to hire a 1.0 FTE Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher for the high school level beginning with the 2024-25 school year near Turtle Lake, WI. This position requires the teacher to work in a cross-categorical setting with inclusion. Interviews taking place now.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct/group instructions to students with disabilities
  • Develop lesson plans/instructional material to meet needs of student's IEP
  • Employ a variety of teaching styles to respond to needs of diverse learners
  • Modify traditional education curriculum to meet student's needs
  • Ensure appropriate accommodations are available for classroom instruction and testing
  • Employ techniques for positive behavioral support
  • Successful candidates will have a collaborative, flexible nature and have the skills necessary to work well with regular education teachers and educational assistants.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and build positive working relationships with students, staff and parents is a must.
  • Strong skills in IEP writing, FBAs, behavior plans, interventions and progress monitoring are desired.
  • Candidates must show a willingness to work as a contributing member on school teams and committees.
Qualifications:
  • Appropriate Wisconsin DPI Certification is required (Cross Categorical Special Education)
  • Must be able to provide updated resume and references
