Job Posting for Medical Patient Care Coordinator/Medical Assistant at Birch Tree Foot and Ankle Specialists
Birch Tree Foot and Ankle Specialists is a private practice medical clinic in Traverse City, Michigan. (www.birchtreefootandankle.com) We are looking for a friendly person with medical experience to help coordinate and provide patient care. Some responsibilities of the position include: checking patients in and out, answering and triaging phone calls, scheduling patient visits, calling referrals, faxing patient information, scheduling MRI's or CT scans, taking patient payments and verifying insurance benefits. On occasion, this positon will also include more of a medical assistant role by assisting with patient care which would include: rooming patients, entering patient information, assiting with routine foot care, and taking x-rays. Good communication skills and a friendly personality are a must, as the front desk staff is the first person and the last person our patient sees during his or her visit. The hours will be Monday-Thursday 8:30-4:30 pm, no nights, weekends or holidays. Experience with an EMR system would be preferred, and the clinic currently uses eClinical Works. This is a one physician surgical practice that runs very efficiently with few staff members who have been with the practice since its inception. The individual applying for this position should be able to work in a small group setting and realize they are an important part of our team. All staff members are available to help train and support the new staff member as we continue to grow and provide excellent patient care.
