What are the responsibilities and job description for the Busser position at Birdie G’s?
Each employees’ job function is to contribute to the positive guest experience which is achieved through the chain of service. The guest experience is achieved through the service of food and beverage, and both FOH and BOH are vital parts of that chain and play important roles in achieving that goal. Contained within each job description is the specific role that job plays in the chain of service. Every hourly employee is part of the chain of service, and participates in the tip pool as payment for their contribution to that chain. Service could not exist without food and food could not be enjoyed by our guests without service. As a busser you ensure setting tables and resetting throughout service (including removal and additions of chairs and place settings), tables are cleared thoroughly and properly and wiped down cleanly throughout guest meals and after they have vacated tables. Your stations should be set up and maintained throughout service, you adhere to the steps of service and communication protocols, while exhibiting the Rustic Canyon standards of hospitality towards our guests and your coworkers at all times

As a Line Busser, your job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Complete opening tasks such as aligning and dressing tables with proper cleanliness and organization, set up the patio tables, stools, silver and placemats, align chairs and tables in main dining room (with proper table configuration and guest numbers from host), make sure bathrooms are clean and ready for guests (check stock of soap, paper towels, toilet paper, seat covers), fill water bottles, etc.
- Attend mandatory pre-shift meetings.
- Maintaining proper dining experience as it pertains to Rustic Canyon: filling water, fulfilling customer needs with poise, etiquette, and efficiency.
- Refilling water guests.
- Clear and wipe tables at appropriate times (including in the lounge and at the bar).
- Clear and reset tables with the correct number of settings and chairs.
- Assist dishwashers with plates/glasses/silver to dish stations.
- Re-stocking glassware, plates and silver throughout the shift.
- Complete assigned tasks upon finishing a shift, such as filling water bottles, emptying water containers, cleaning coffee stations, bringing patio furniture inside, polishing and stocking silverware/glassware, resetting tables, etc.
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Assisting with special events as needed.
- Following proper food handling and safety regulations, reporting injuries or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Ability to accept and follow verbal instructions and delegated tasks in English.
- must be able to work December 4-17, 20-31st. We will be closed on 12/24/2023 -12/25/2023 & 1/1/2024. Must have Saturday, Sunday, Monday availability
- Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness and personal hygiene.
- Possession of California Food Handler’s card.
- Regular, predictable and reliable attendance.
- Good attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Attendance of FOH meetings.
- Flexibility with work assignments and shifts.
- Initiative and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers verbally
Physical Demands
- Requires moderate physical effort: standing, carrying, bending, stretching, wrist movement, stooping, pulling and pushing, lifting of weights up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Working conditions involve noise, heat, temperature changes, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, etc. May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the work load and staffing. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Salary : $17 - $300
