Data Architect

What you'll do: 

• Lead, champion change, and drive technology vision for large scale architectural systems as well as responsible for defining, maintaining, communicating, implementing, and executing the enterprise database architecture, standards, and strategy for operational usage across the business 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models and database designs 
• Develop and maintain an enterprise data strategy, including data standards, governance policies, and best practices 
• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to ensure data quality, availability, and accessibility 
• Implement data security and privacy measures to protect sensitive information and ensure compliance with relevant regulations 
• Responsible for technical design and implementation of database schemas, design for performance, database development, and technical review to meet Bish’s strategic objectives 
• Ensure consistency across database implementations (data cleansing, integrity and quality) 
• Lead internal and external teams to influence and guide technology strategy and product delivery as well as stay current on new product feasibility and costs 
• Lead proof of concept activities and conduct architectural performance validation strategies that confirm the effectiveness of one approach versus another, along with leading prototype efforts  
• Work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, stakeholders, and management to define new (and enhance existing) features that are aligned with Bish’s overall long term strategy 
• Conduct data analysis and profiling to identify data quality issues and recommend remediation strategies 
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and analytics teams 
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data management and analytics 

What we're looking for: 

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields. 
• 10 years of experience in database architecture and data integration, preferably in a fast-paced, agile environment. 
• Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role, with a track record of successfully designing and implementing data solutions. 
• Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and data integration techniques. 
• Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and data security practices. 
• Familiarity with big data technologies and platforms, such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases. 
• Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly desirable. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data-related challenges. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. 
• Strong experience in SQL Server, database configuration, administration, security, clustering and replication, mirroring, backups, profiling, and maintenance 
• Strong technical background and understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices. 
• Proven ability to influence technology with cross-functional teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills. 
• Ability to work in a fast-growing, dynamic work environment 
• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously 
• Neat, clean, and professional appearance  
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
