Product Owner - Data Analytics

Overview:  

Our client is on the data and analytics transformation journey, and we have built out phase of building out the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform and delivered an initial set of high priority use cases (both strategic and operational). The Product owner will function as the team’s primary customer advocate and primary link to the business and technology solutions team. 

Responsibilities: 

As part of this role on Enterprise Data & Analytics product/services team, a successful Product Owner should fulfill the following duties and responsibilities: 

• Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs in the reporting and analytics space and translate them into product requirements 

• Collaborating with the product management in refining the reporting and analytics product road map based on the product vision 

• Managing the product backlog and prioritizing them based on changing needs 

• Ensuring that the Product Backlog is transparent, visible and understood 

• Overseeing all stages of product/report creation including design and development 

• Collaborating with the scrum team in developing user stories 

• Monitoring and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process 

• Liaising with the product team and end-users to communicate and deliver updates 

• Participating in Scrum meetings and product sprints 

Skills: 

• Strong Analytical skills to understand the product demand, customer priorities and overall product backlog prioritization. A Scrum product owner's priorities lie in managing, assessing, and approving the product backlog. 

• Demonstrated experience in oral and verbal communication skills in a scrum team setting 

• Strong focus on collaboration across the scrum team and the customers of the reporting and analytics solution 

• Preferred experience with technical skills in the Microsoft Azure based reporting and analytics services. 

• Well versed in scrum and agile framework with a strong understanding of the project management skills to drive the delivery goals. 

Experience: 

• 5 years of experience working as a Product Owner in an Agile environment using Scrum methodologies 

• 2 years of work experience in delivering data, reporting and analytics products 

• 2 years of experience working with Azure data analytics technologies 

• Experience in a global environment
