What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant position at Black Chasm Cavern?
Gold Country Adventures is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team and help maintain our unique locations: Black Chasm Cavern and California Cavern. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to perform a variety of tasks related to the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our facilities both inside the caverns and in the surrounding outdoor areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the rest of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in carrying out routine maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, repairing minor plumbing issues, and maintaining HVAC systems at both cavern locations
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, including cavern interiors and outdoor areas, to identify and resolve issues
- Perform basic repairs on equipment and facilities, including carpentry, painting, and minor electrical work
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of maintenance storage areas, tools, and equipment
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed at both cavern locations
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and external vendors as needed to complete projects
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including those specific to working in cavern environments, to maintain a safe work environment
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1 years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or a related field
- Basic understanding of maintenance and repair processes, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and evenings, to accommodate emergency maintenance needs
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
