What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Associate position at Black Dog Firewood?
Black Dog Firewood has an immediate opening for a Team Member in our Logistics Dept. This position will work with Drivers, Production Dept and Management to provide our customers with excellent products and service:
- Pulling products from inventory to load delivery trucks
- Accurately identifying, labeling and inspecting all products before loading
- Quality Control
- Packaging / re-packaging materials based on customer requirements
- Offloading and documenting shipments / products received
- Basic equipment inspection and maintenance
- Maintaining records for machine maintenance, operations, and inventory.
This position is primarily outdoors, so you must be comfortable in this environment. This is a serious job and we provide training on all aspects of the job. However, we can't train you to be responsible, show up consistently or on-time. If your work history doesn't show these characteristics, DO NOT apply.
The ideal candidate will
- Be a self-starter
- Have a high level of attention to detail
- Be able to lift 50 LBS
- Be comfortable working outdoors
- Have experience operating forklifts, loaders and skidsteers
- Have experience working on a team
- Have experience with Electric and Manual Pallet Jacks
- Have experience with moving straight trucks around a yard
