Director of Operations - East Coast

Black Gold Farms is looking for a Director of Operations who can manage multi-site ag operations for our East Coast locations. Our ideal candidate is someone who exhibits the core character traits of Black Gold Farms’ Leadership Virtues, coachable, driven, results focused, courageous, and resourceful.

Responsibilities of the Director of Operations:

· Ensure crop plans are successfully executed on the farm level by proper utilization of agronomic inputs, equipment, and people resources.

· Drive the focus on yield by assisting the farms implement their yield projects.

· Ensure farms execute fundamental best practices successfully while focusing on results and accountability.

· Mentor and coach farm managers. Develop strategic hiring practices with the farm teams to maintain a qualified staff.

· Ensure that farm managers are properly trained and make decisions that positively impact their KPIs.

· Facilitate effective communication between farms and other support functions.

· Develop and execute strategic projects that drive business growth.

Required:

- Multi-site operations management experience

- People management/leadership skills

- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

- Crop production experience

Desired:

- Bachelor’s degree (Ag or Business related) or relevant experience

- Potato or vegetable experience

- Agronomic background

- Participation in leadership program

Location:

The location of this position is negotiable. Preference is that the candidate be located in the Camden, NC area or near one of our other farm locations (Rhodesdale, MD or Live Oak, FL). Travel requirement is approximately 30% overnight depending on base location.
