What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at BLACK GOLD FARMS?
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the packaging facility at Black Gold Farms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various systems and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
Duties:
- Provide direction to location staff through proper training, supervision, and communication for maintenance related tasks.
- Help train seasonal staff on operations and maintenance tasks.
- Perform all maintenance of production equipment, including both preventive and remedial maintenance, to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Communicate maintenance issues and delays with location leadership to avoid customer backlash from production downtime.
- Establish and maintain a spare parts inventory to promote a minimal downtime atmosphere to utilize seasonal labor hours as efficiently as possible.
- Document and record all maintenance tasks to track equipment failure patterns and repair costs.
- Record all maintenance-related downtime for preventive maintenance planning.
- Utilize software systems to properly create POs for the procurement of parts using proper GL coding guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all process equipment. All preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance duties fall within the Maintenance Technician’s area of responsibility.
- Maintain packaging site and facilities for safe operation and an always ‘tour ready’ state of cleanliness.
- Complete remedial/reactive maintenance tasks quicky to maximize production capability.
- Work with support teams to enable packaging to sustain efficient and high-quality production.
- Ensure safety compliance (by yourself and others) through proper adherence to safety training and guidelines.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule including the potential to work weekends during peak seasons.
- Attend Production meetings to stay informed and add value to discussions pertaining to production line schedules and planned maintenance.
Experience:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
- Strong leadership skills to guide maintenance team effectively
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience with various Microsoft office products, inventory management, maintenance scheduling, CMMS software
- Welding and plasma cutting
- Basic Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills (low and high voltage)
- Packaging Machinery troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Sensors and control systems
- Basic understanding of liquid conveyance (pumps, piping, valves)

Salary : $50,000 - $70,000
