Job Specifications
Responsible for assisting design engineers in the preparation of design drawings and mapping of facilities in AutoCAD or similar mapping systems.
SALARY RANGE: $55,450 - $83,300 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the candidate)
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Design Engineering Manager
LOCATION: Fountain, Colorado

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Utilize computer-aided drafting system (AutoCAD) to complete detailed construction and as-built drawings for regulator stations, meter sets, odorizers, pipeline installations and other facilities.
- Create 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional models utilizing tool pallets.
- Modify objects in model and paper space.
- Provide accurate and current system maps by updating land base and gas facilities, and printing distribution maps.
- Creating figures for permit drawings for various agencies and government entities.
- Plot, publish and file drawings on large and small formats, and distribute drawings in paper and electronic forms.
- Specify mechanical, piping, electrical and grounding equipment and materials.
- Create bore profiles and alignment sheets from survey data to avoid conflicts with proposed and existing facilities.
- Create a bill of material based on pipeline facility models, maintain a database and update specifications as designs change.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with plotting and large media.
- Effectively communicate with staff at all levels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of (1) one year of prior AutoCAD experience required.
- Associate degree in design, drafting or science related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Skilled with the use of AutoCAD, GE Smallworld, Spatial Intelligence and Microsoft Office software.
- Proficiency in computer applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and various specialized software such as Adobe Pro and Google Earth.
- Knowledge of JavaScript or other object-oriented programming language.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Power Automate, or Power Apps.
- This position operates in a typical office environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision and accurately record time spent on projects.
- Ability to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level and occasionally outdoors in sometimes inclement weather. Worker may be subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in places of height or close quarters. Willing to travel up to 25% (e.g., 1 week or 5 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job and the employee must have proper licensing to operate a motor vehicle.
