Covia is looking for a dynamic Operator who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Black Lab Serena location in Serena, IL.

 

 The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities: 

  • Wear negative-pressure half facepiece respirator and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while following safe work rules 
  • Weigh and measure raw materials according to detailed blend sheet 
  • Load materials into mixer manually and with forklift 
  • Prepare and affix labels for packaging 
  • Package, palletize, ship and receive products 
  • Practice preventative maintenance at all times 
  • Inform management of any problems with meeting daily customer requirements 
  • Maintain clean and safe work area 
  • Work with silica, cement, fly ash and other materials or chemicals
  • Other duties may be assigned 

 The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required 
  • 2-3 years of experience required 
  • Safety awareness 
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics 
  • Good time-management skills 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Dependable 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a repetitive basis throughout the work-day
