What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward/Food Runner position at Blackberry?
The purpose of the Steward position is to prepare the Dining Room for operations and service, including but not limited to executing the set-up of dining spaces and maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and pertinent equipment. Must be available from 7:00am- 3:00pm for dining room set up.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepares the dining room for operations and service
- Executes the set-up of dining spaces and maintains the cleanliness of the restaurant and equipment
- Vacuums dining spaces to ensure continued cleanliness
- Irons table cloths
- Sets table according to prescribes standards
- Crumbs chairs
- Maintains cleanliness of common spaces
- Performs routine deep-cleaning tasks as assigned by management
- Moves table and chairs to achieve necessary table configurations
- Maintains “the look” of the space
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to effectively communicate with other Team Members and Managers/Supervisors
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic knowledge and understanding of math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to be on feet for a long period of time
- Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Dining Room, Bar and Kitchen areas
