About this Role 

We are looking for a highly organized and energetic Client Implementation Analyst to join our Client Experience team.   

As a Client Implementation Analyst, you’ll serve as the primary point of contact for new or existing clients, providing a wide range of implementation and service support. You will also act as the liaison between the client and various Aperio functions including business development, trading, portfolio management, operations, billing and performance reporting. This position requires strong client-facing and relationship management skills in order to build strong, successful partnerships between all parties.  

The ideal candidate must enjoy working with clients, have exceptional organizational skills, have an interest in the financial markets, and be capable of prioritizing multiple projects. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support Client Implementation team in handling all daily activities, client requests, new account setups, new intermediaries and platforms, account transitions including custodian changes, name changes, tax id changes, account splits/consolidations, etc., contract reviews and administrative functions. 

  • As needed, provide assistance to broader Client Experience team.  

  • Collaborate with Business Development, Portfolio Management, Investment Strategy and other departments, as needed, to produce high quality, client-focused DDQs and other questionnaires within challenging timeframes. 

  • Research and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner; escalate issues as appropriate. 

  • Oversee client interaction — act as a conduit between client and the rest of Aperio; introduce technology and services to clients as appropriate;  

  • Communicate with custodians, intermediaries, consultants, and brokers to resolve issues and respond to various requests in a timely and professional manner. 

  • Collaborate with fellow team members to provide exceptional service for existing and prospective clients. 

  • Manage and/or participate in the quarterly updates to Consultant Databases. 

  • Manage the onboarding of new direct clients or the servicing of existing ones (gifting requests, account maintenance, etc.). 

  • Improve the onboarding of new intermediaries and/or platforms to ensure a positive experience from the beginning.  

  • Facilitate and support the contract negotiation process, in close coordination with the Legal and Compliance team, responsible for managing deadlines, feedback from all groups (both internal and external), and client communication. 

  • Assist in monitoring group email inbox - directing requests to the appropriate group and/or directly responding to requests. 

  • Participate in projects to enhance the client experience, streamline operations, automate processes, reduce errors and support the firm’s growth. 

  • QA (quality assurance) yours and the work of teammates to minimize potential errors. 

  • Update addresses and contact information in Salesforce, as needed. 

  • Actively manage client expectations as related to Aperio’s Client Implementation and broader Client Experience team processes, with a proactive and client-focused approach to issue resolution. 

  • Effectively document and maintain/evolve processes to enhance the client experience, streamline operations, automate processes and reduce errors. 

  • Act as subject-matter expert on a wide range of client issues and internal processes, as they relate to Client Implementation and broader Client Experience processes. 

  • Participate in the training of new hires and cross-training of existing team members. 

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned. 

Required Skills/Experience 

  • BA/BS required. 

  • The ability to work independently under minimal supervision, with exceptional problem-solving proficiency. 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an investment management firm. 

  • Background in or understanding of financial markets including knowledge of current market trends and competitive landscape. 

  • A desire to understand Aperio's structure and identify opportunities to utilize Aperio resources to meet client needs 

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to do what it takes solve complex problems and/or resolve complex client requests. 

  • Strong organizational skills to manage data, projects, and processes. 

  • The ability to use considerable tact and discretion when dealing with client or sensitive data 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interface with clients, prospects, custodians and colleagues 

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and client relationship management skills — whether interaction is in-person, over the telephone or via email 

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment that can be unstructured; a proven ability to handle pressure, multi-task and prioritize work at all times   

  • Excellent attention to detail and high degree of accuracy and consistency 

  • Outstanding knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Microsoft Excel skills.  

  • Experience with custodial websites, CRM client database (Salesforce) and APX portfolio management system a plus
