BVP is an intentionally diverse network of tuition-free public charter schools. As a founding member of the National Coalition of Diverse Charter Schools, BVP offers a high-quality school choice to the families of Central Falls, Cumberland, Lincoln, and Pawtucket. We believe firmly that all scholars can achieve success in college and the world beyond, so we proactively work to foster a college prep culture. Apart from academics, we believe that preparing scholars for the world beyond also means experiencing the diversity of the world we live in today.

Our network is designed to be diverse, accepting students from two traditionally higher-income communities of Cumberland and Lincoln and two from predominantly lower-income communities of Pawtucket and Central Falls. We seek to create a staff with a similarly diverse set of backgrounds and experiences that reflect the diversity of our students, families, and communities. Blackstone Valley Prep (BVP) Mayoral Academy is now hiring committed team members who are willing to do whatever it takes to put all scholars on a path to college. We are accepting applications for 3 known openingsResponsibilities of a Dean include (but are not limited to): Demonstrate exceptional teacher leadershipDirectly coach a caseload of teachers to further develop their instructional skills to engage 100% of scholarsObserve lessons regularly and deliver targeted feedback to teachersProvide tools and resources for effective instructional deliveryModel effective instructional practices for teachers Lead outstanding professional developmentCollaborate with grade and/or subject teams to launch units, plan lessons and assessmentsCollaborate with grade and/or subject teams to lead team meetings to dive deep on curriculum, student work, and lesson planningCoordinate, manage, and facilitate innovative, motivating staff trainings and professional development sessionsFacilitate regular data meetings with teachers to troubleshoot challenges and make decisions based on scholar achievement Serve as an active member of the school leadership teamParticipate in weekly leadership team meetingsCollaborate with Deans across the BVP network and the Network Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment team to build upon and refine current curriculumAssist grade chairs and other teacher leaders in developing leadership skills Collaborate with scholar support staff members to manage school cultureWork closely with the Head of School, Social Worker and other members of scholar support team to establish a positive, structured, achievement-oriented and joyful school cultureCoordinate and implement school-wide behavior management systemsAssist teachers, scholars, and parents with effective creation and implementation of behavior plans, including leading targeted Tier 3 interventions as neededAnalyze school wide culture data and make adjustments as necessaryMonitor and analyze scholars attendance and discipline records and proactively respond to school's areas of needDevelop and promote a positive culture for teachers and staff Qualifications & Educational Background3 years or more of teaching experienceMasters degree preferredBilingual candidates preferred, but not requiredExcellent teaching, behavior management and instructional planning skillsExcellent communication skillsWillingness to contribute to the continuous growth and development of the organizationMaturity and a do whatever it takes attitude and work ethic To Apply: Please submit your resume and tailored cover letter online.
