Job Summary
Reporting to Blade’s Associate General Counsel, the Risk Management Associate will develop, implement and administer a comprehensive risk management and safety program. The position will work closely with various business units across the organization, including the legal, safety, organ transfers, operations, corporate development, strategy, partnerships and technology teams. The candidate must be extremely detail-oriented and possess a high-level of professionalism and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion with regard to sensitive matters.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage the Company’s comprehensive insurance portfolio and act as the main point-of-contact with Blade’s various insurance brokers and/or carriers.
- Obtain and verify certificates of insurance for accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
- Develop and maintain organized risk management dashboards and repositories.
- Create and administer risk management and safety-related policies and protocol across various business units.
- Integrate newly introduced and acquired business lines into the existing risk management framework.
- Conduct due diligence reviews in support of M&A and corporate development efforts.
- Perform other duties as directed by the President/General Counsel or Legal team members.

- Demonstrated ability to work across various departments and levels of an organization; proactively manage various assignments and grasp complex concepts; and handle private, sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong working knowledge of risk management practices and previous experience working in the aviation and/or insurance industries.
- Working familiarity with corporate insurance policies.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Pre-Law or related field or 4 years equivalent experience required.
- At least one year of related experience is preferred with a Bachelor's degree
