What are the responsibilities and job description for the Body Shop Manager position at Blaise Alexander Lewisburg Jeep?
We are currently looking to hire a Body Shop Manager for our new Chrysler store in Lewisburg, PA.
The Body Shop Manager oversees all areas of the department and ensures that the sales, operational, financial and customer satisfaction metrics are achieved. Must ensure all goals and objectives are met for successful growth.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Financial
- Responsible for the overall leadership and management of the collision repair shop
- Ensures that sales, operational, financial and customer satisfaction goals are achieved
- Ensures that the Bureau of Automotive Repair Regulations are being followed
- Develops operational plan for short- and long-term goals
- Conveys a clear company vision and sets goals for the shop to achieve targeted performance in all areas of the business
- Analyzes Profit & Loss, EBITDA, and Gross Profit statements. Conducts operational and financial audits
- Monthly: reviews end of month reports for Sales, showing the Estimator averaged per RO and Labor Units per RO
- Monthly: reviews Continuous improvement Logs
- Monthly: reviews of Customer Service Indicators end of month scores with each shop during and review customer comments Good and
Bad
Production Collision Department
- Assists in the efficient flow of work throughout the shop
- Supervises staff to ensure that quality repairs are completed
- Maintains standards of repair quality, inspecting vehicle repairs throughout the repair process
- Daily: conduct daily walk thru of facility and write up items needing attention, repairs, areas or items to be cleaned, observations of SOPS
not being adhered followed
- Weekly: monitors storage areas for inspection, cleanliness, and determine if disposal is needed at that specific time
- Establishes departmental procedures
- Daily: participates in daily Shop Meetings to understand shop needs for repairs or maintenance
- Provides input and controls capital equipment, tool purchase, facility improvement
- Controls that the shop working areas are organized and clean condition and in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Responsible for addressing safety problems in production areas
- Advises the owner of hazardous conditions or damaged tools or equipment and take the appropriate action to correct any potentially
hazardous conditions.
- Performs audits to ensure Pre-Ordered parts are verified for correctness and non-damaged.
- Monthly: Conduct Audit Estimates and Files to inquire:
o Any R\I operations that could have been collected for
o Clean vehicle for delivery charges
o Solid Waste Charges
o Was there a 100 % Disassembly
o Were all parts stored as disassembly procedures
o Were all Call Logs performed everyday
o Were the Call Log notes completed and clear
o Was vehicle released without payment was there a faxed copy of the check in the file
Operations/Relations
- Maintains work habits that are in accordance with the employee policies as outlined in the Employee handbook.
- Supervises adherence to the all the SOP’s
- Participates in shop meetings and training programs which are sponsored by the company. Approves employee training programs
- Establishes and maintains professional relationships with adjusters and insurance representatives. Should be able to resolve insurance
negotiation disputes
- Manages and oversees employees
- Responsible for final hiring decision, dismissal of employees and yearly Employee Reviews
- Assists in the monthly evaluation of employees if needed
- Responsible for directly handling and resolving customer complaints
EQUIPMENT TOOLS
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum 10 years or more of operations management experience
- Minimum 8 years in automotive collision and mechanical repair industry. Thorough knowledge of collision repair processes gained
through a minimum of eight (8) years of hands-on industry experience.
- Requires in-depth understanding of collision repair procedures
