Purpose: Under the direction of the Corporate Accounting Manager, performs professional accounting activities related to the preparation, maintenance and review of financial records, accounts and reports.

Salary Range: $98,000 - $114,000

This role is virtual or hybrid - US Based.

Duties include:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Canada corporation tax regulations and Canada payroll (Year-end tax forms, Non-Resident Tax Returns, Ontario Employer Health Tax Return, and Workers Comp reporting in Ontario, British Columbia, and Calgary)
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for UK VAT regulations, UK corporation tax regulations (HMRC compliance and reporting), and UK payroll (PAYE taxes, NICs, and compliance with RTI reporting).
  • Manage Canada and UK accounting team providing daily guidance and coaching.
  • Manages the financial and accounting duties as they relate to reviewing and processing financial records.
  • Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities (payroll, commissions, accruals, amortization, depreciation, intercompany, royaltiesetc).
  • Participate in the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and other analyses.
  • Manages the treasury function for the UK office ensuring cash flow is adequate, banking relations are satisfactory, and foreign exchange exposure is minimized.
  • Prepare customer invoices and research and resolve accounts receivables with a focus on driving collections.
  • Manages accounts receivable,ensuring delinquent accounts are contacted and issues are resolved
  • Process, verify, review, approve and input all accountspayables.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements related to UK financial operations.
  • Oversees the data and systems necessary for providing timely and accurate information for financial reporting.
  • Works cross functionally with other departments to implement standard operating procedures.
  • Oversees the procurement of materials and products through a procurement policy and the management of supplier relationship.
  • Answers questions and provides a variety of information and assistance to appropriate personnel regarding accounts and related information.
  • Works with Corporate Accounting Manager to represent the UK office in interactions with third parties, including the landlord, vendors, bankers, and accounting firms.
  • Maintain documentation for efficient and effective record-keeping and audittrails.
  • Supports the quarterly and year-end budget forecasting.
  • Conducts yearly performance reviews and one-on-one sessions.
  • Hires, trains, promotes, and terminates staff within company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist Corporate Accounting Manager in ad-hoc requests.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of UK & Canadaspecific tax and payroll matters including insurance, pension, and other benefits
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Education & Experience

  • 4-5 years of experience in financial accounting applying GAAP
  • 1-2 years of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with Netsuite required
