SHOP FABRICATOR DESCRIPTION
Purpose and Scope:
The Shop Fabricator produces piping pre-fabricated materials to improve field efficiency and quality. The goal is to reduce installation hours by fabricating materials in a controlled, safe and efficient environment to meet build timelines. The Fabricator schedules, monitors, and organizes daily work in coordination with field operations, VDC, and project management while adhering to safe work practices. Responsible for meeting budget goals, minimizing waste, and ensuring top-quality, accurate and timely completion of work, this individual fills a pivotal role in the workflow moving ready to install products out to the field. This role also requires occasional work on construction sites directly for field install of Piping and Plumbing systems.
Work Schedule:
Typically Mon – Th, 4 – 10s, 40 to 42.5 hours weekly. Hours may vary at times to meet project deadlines, including some infrequent Fridays, weekend, and/or evening hours. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times normal rate for anything more than 40 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$20 - $24 per hour. This is a full-time, non-exempt position eligible for overtime wages.
Responsibilities:
Daily
- Fabricate piping and plumbing pre-fab assemblies accurately based on spool drawings.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to find solutions to problems.
- Conduct safe use of tools and equipment.
- Enter personal time.
- Perform duties as assigned by the VDC Manager.
- Plan and organize jobs on the daily basis with VDC Manager to meet priorities, goals, and material budgets.
Job Requirements:
- Possess a valid, non-expired driver's license
- Be eligible under Form I-9 requirements to be legally employed in the U.S.
- Pass background driving records check
- Pass criminal history check
- Pass drug screening test
Physical Requirements:
- Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift and carry parts and equipment weighing 15-75 pounds
- Manual dexterity for high-quality craftsmanship
- Visual ability to read instructions, blueprints, and other materials
- Basic computer operation
- Hearing and verbal communication skills for effective conversation in person and on the telephone
