Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' sensory, motor, and cognitive abilities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
- Utilize therapeutic techniques and interventions to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and participation in the school environment.
- Adapt and modify classroom activities and equipment to meet students' unique needs.
- Conduct assistive technology evaluations and provide recommendations for appropriate devices and tools.
- Collaborate with the school staff to develop and implement strategies for promoting students' independence and participation in academic and social activities.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois.
- Experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of sensory integration techniques, fine motor development, and adaptive equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
