What are the responsibilities and job description for the Applications Developer position at Blend?
Blend’s Integrations Team is tasked with designing, developing, deploying and scaling our most important external integration patterns between Blend’s platform and major system of record like Loan Origination Systems, Core Banking Systems, Customer Relationship Management systems (CRM’s) and the like. In this capacity we work closely with Prospects, Customers, System Vendor Partners and Consulting Partners to bring these integrations to life. The team is in rapid growth and 2021 will represent a year of heads-down focus on heavy scaling of customer base, infrastructure and team capacity.
Some projects that the team is working on:
- Developing scalable integration patterns for Ellie Mae and Jack Henry solutions; intended to scale to 200 customers
- Hardening an automated end-to-end testing suite for full integration use case coverage
- Scaling our infrastructure to support a dramatically higher transaction volume expected in 2021
- Implementing a server-less architecture-driven approach to run quality assurance checks on our services
How you'll contribute:
- Set direction for a group of Product Managers, Integrations Engineers and Solutions Architects; tasked with building and scaling Blend’s integrations patterns
- Manage third party Integrations development relationships
- Manage technical relationships with major system of record (e.g. LOS, Core Banking System) vendors
- Participate in the pre-sales process, consulting with prospective clients on integration approaches, professional services costs and project timelines
- Recruit top-tier talent as the team grows
- Learn and maintain a deep understanding of the Blend platform
- Partner closely with Customer Success, Growth, Business Development, Product and Engineering to further expand Blend’s integration footprint
- Help team leaders grow and meet their career goals, and set the pace for the team
- Encourage a healthy work environment that’s supportive, challenging and inclusive for all
Who you are:
- 10 years relevant management experience in technology, product management or consulting
- 5 years experience as a software engineer or solution architect
- Experience managing multi-faceted organizations (e.g. different functional areas under one leader)
- Strong technical background with specific strength in systems integration, systems architecture, networking and API-first software development approaches
- Successful experience collaborating with Product and Engineering leaders to influence roadmaps and deliverables
- Experience managing and growing a portfolio of third party development relationships with a focus on quality and spend
- Self-starter - you are comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty
- Ability to travel
- Shown ability to recruit, mentor, and retain great people
