QA tester (Manual)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Web Content Management System (CMS) Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in manual testing, particularly within Drupal or other web-based CMS environments. The role involves ensuring the seamless functionality and performance of our CMS platform, both at the front-end and back-end levels. Your insights will play a critical role in maintaining the high quality and reliability of our web applications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough manual testing of our web-based Content Management System (CMS), including Drupal, to identify any defects or inconsistencies in functionality.
• Go beyond the user interface and delve into the internal interface, effectively testing the backend of the application to ensure smooth operation.
• Possess a strong understanding of how websites are constructed, including forms, listing pages, dynamics, queries, and taxonomies, to effectively test various components and interactions.
• Collaborate with the technical team to execute and manage automated testing scripts. Although script writing may not be required, a grasp of the logic behind automation is necessary to guide the technical team effectively.
• Conduct regression and smoke testing before application deployments to identify and address any potential issues early in the development cycle.
• Utilize JIRA or similar tools to track and manage defects, ensuring clear communication and documentation throughout the testing process.
• Demonstrate basic proficiency in navigating the AWS (Amazon Web Services) interface, with the ability to log in and access error scripts for backend monitoring.
• Perform basic 508 testing and monitoring to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
• Plan and execute the testing process, developing comprehensive test plans and test logic to ensure thorough coverage of all system components and interactions.
• Leverage experience with Selenium or similar testing tools to enhance the testing process. Familiarity with Selenium is preferred, but flexibility in using similar tools is acceptable.
• Devote approximately 80% of work to manual testing and planning, 10% to automation-related tasks, and another 10% to 508 compliance testing.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in manual testing, specifically within Drupal or other web-based Content Management Systems.
• Proficiency in understanding both front-end and back-end aspects of web applications, with an emphasis on internal interfaces and system functionality.
• Strong grasp of website architecture and components, including forms, listing pages, dynamics, queries, and taxonomies.
• Familiarity with automation concepts, capable of collaborating with the technical team on test scripts and execution.
• Experience with regression and smoke testing methodologies to ensure application stability.
• Proficiency in using defect tracking tools like JIRA to manage and communicate testing results effectively.
• Basic knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) interface for backend monitoring.
• Understanding of 508 accessibility compliance testing principles.
• Skilled in creating comprehensive test plans and logic for effective testing coverage.
• Preferred experience with Selenium or similar testing tools.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and self-motivated attitude towards identifying and addressing potential issues.
