Overview:
Join our team as an Ophthalmology Technician where you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists with patient care and eye examinations. We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with a passion for delivering exceptional eye care services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preliminary patient screenings including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and basic vision tests.
- Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures such as eye exams, diagnostic testing, and minor surgical interventions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on eye care procedures, medications, and post-operative care instructions.
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of ophthalmic conditions to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
- Perform front desk duties including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and handling medical billing tasks.
Skills:
- Familiarity with Nextech software is preferred
- Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, physiology, and aseptic techniques is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to strict ethical standards in handling patient information.
