What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deli Clerk/Cashier position at Blue Fog Market?
We are an independent, neighborhood café, deli, and specialty market seeking our newest teammate. The successful team member will assist our Deli, serving our neighborhood customer base in the beautiful San Francisco Marina District.
You will be responsible for taking online and in-person orders, making hot and cold sandwiches, preparing salads, parfaits, oatmeals, deli ingredients, maintaining the kitchen, and communicating well with our team and customers.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to store, engaging with them throughout their experience
- Demonstrates customers come first by serving them with a sense of urgency
- Provide consistent quality in the preparation of food
- Take orders with attention to detail (e.g. customizations, allergies, recipes etc.)
- Prepare ingredients for later Deli shifts
- Maintain stock of deli supplies and products
- Maintain clean work area throughout the shift, and when closing shop
- Check if equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
- Comply with all health and safety regulations
- Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new products
Skillset
- Willingness to learn new recipes and techniques
- Excellent sense of hospitality and teamwork
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts
- Basic math skills
- Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
- Ability to flourish in a busy environment
