Job Summary
The Assistant Controller will perform accounting, budgeting, and other finance-related functions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing, and implementing controls, policies, and standard operating procedures to ensure the accuracy of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and critical financial reports. The Assistant Controller must also be able to complete and submit any requirements for federal and/or state regulatory agencies, as needed.

Major Responsibilities
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. An advanced degree in Accounting and CPA preferred.
Previous Experience:
A minimum of five years of accounting/finance experience working as a Controller with proven track record in adding value to the company and executive staff. Must have thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and experience with financial statements; general ledger functions; month, quarter, and year-end close processes. Must have expertise in accounting and controls as well as compliance and reporting. Experience with budgeting a plus.
Competencies and Skills:
Compensation & Benefit - Maintains multiple companies’ charts of accounts.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintains a system of controls over accounting transactions and corporate assets.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Establishes and maintains internal controls to support the financial infrastructure.
- Oversees and ensures the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of all accounting operations, including:
- Accounts Payables/Receivables
- Property Tax Filing
- Invoicing/Billing
- Customer Credits and Collections
- Sales Tax Reconciliation
- Inventory Integrity
- Fixed Asset Records
- General Accounting
- Revenue Recognition
- Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory control system to include:
- Participates in Periodic Inventory Counts
- Assist with Inventory discrepancy research
- Completes month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes including accurate and timely reporting for leadership review.
- Performs periodic bank reconciliations.
- Represents finance team on ad hoc teams and task forces, when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
