Blue Heron Adult Care Home is a small family-owned and run adult foster home. Whether you are tired of working in a large facility where you are over-worked and underappreciated or if you are just starting in the caregiving world, consider joining us here!
Duties:
- Assist residents as needed with ADLs (personal hygiene, dressing, changing, showering)
- Assist with lifting and transferring residents as needed
- Provide direct support to residents with daily activities/ exercises
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by provider
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Light cleaning as needed
- Prepare, administer and document resident medications
- Follow established systems and protocols for resident care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary
Qualifications:
- Some caregiving experience is helpful but not necessary. You will be fully trained in all duties
- Reliability, integrity, confidence
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects or individuals if necessary
