Job Description:

The Production Manager will oversee resource planning, manufacturing operations, and safety initiatives, driving continuous improvement and leading ERP implementation efforts. Responsibilities:
Resource Planning:
· Develop and implement effective workforce scheduling to meet production demands while minimizing overtime and labor costs. Leverage ERP to automate resource planning.
· Coordinate with supply chain management to ensure timely availability of materials and components needed for production.
· Analyze production forecasts and historical data to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
Manufacturing Operations:
· Oversee day-to-day manufacturing activities, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
· Monitor team performance and coordinate training as required to maximize productivity.
· Drive continuous improvement of our policies, assembly procedures and manufacturing operations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and enhance workflow efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
· Lead Lean and Six Sigma projects to identify process inefficiencies and implement sustainable solutions. Leverage methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping to identify waste and improve operational efficiency.
· Collaborate with Quality to drive improvements; facilitate training sessions for staff on best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
· Establish a feedback loop to gather input from employees on operational challenges and improvement opportunities.
· Oversee Manufacturing Engineering to ensure procedures are documented, shop floor improvements are implemented and configuration management process is established.
ERP Implementation:
· Lead the customization and rollout of the new ERP system to ensure alignment with operational needs.
· Train staff on ERP functionalities to enhance user adoption and streamline data management.
· Monitor ERP performance post-implementation to ensure system integrity and identify areas for further optimization.
· Leverage ERP system for operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Safety:
· Develop and enforce safety protocols and training programs to minimize workplace incidents and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
· Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
· Foster a safety-first culture by starting a safety committee and encouraging open dialogue about safety concerns.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience); Master’s degree preferred.
· 5 years of experience in manufacturing, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
· Proven experience with resource planning and ERP system implementation; M1 software experience a plus.
· Strong understanding of continuous improvement principles and methodologies.
· Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
· Commitment to safety and experience in implementing safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating and developing team members.
· Passion for technology and innovation, with a genuine interest in the law enforcement industry and improving public safety.
