This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
We are seeking someone to apply their systems engineering, fluids and propulsion expertise, natural leadership and organizational skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact the bold missions at Blue Origin. You will work on the full life cycle of Lunar spacecraft. Starting in early life cycle you will write requirements, facilitate architectural trade studies, and help the team formulate early design cycles. Midlife cycle you will ensure robust requirements flow down to the component level, spearhead compiling design reviews and ensure integration of our evolving complex systems. Late in the development life cycle you will support qualification and system tests, guide the team to complete verifications and certify our lunar spacecraft for flight. Throughout the life cycle you will manage Technical Performance Metrics, safety products, and interface control documents. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
You will own Fluids and Propulsion design and verification requirements under the mentorship of the Lead Systems Engineer of Fluids and Propulsion. As part of the Systems Engineering team, we will integrate between fluids propulsion subsystem and overall system level vehicle design, analysis, software, operations. We will develop and manage key Technical Performance Metrics for the system. You will support the development and execution of component and subsystem tests and the verifications that follow. You will ensure up to date communication of system level architecture diagrams, schematics that serve as the team’s source of truth. You will champion good systems engineering practices across the Fluids team all the way to the moon!
You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
