What are the responsibilities and job description for the BI Developer I position at Blue Origin, LLC?
As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will work closely within a team of developers and analysts to support the Blue Engines business unit to support the delivery of best-in-class rocket engines. You are a process oriented and highly skilled with wrangling data, comfortable with high ambiguity due to the ever-changing environment and nature of this role. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of the development lifecycle of an engine from requirements, design engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance with focus on data / information flow from source systems. You should demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills as well as adept problem-solving ability. Candidate must have the ability to extract data from a plethora of source systems dealing with unstructured/semi-structured/structured data and build-out insight driving data models and datasets. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Who you are? Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree Strong experience writing complex and efficient SQL Strong experience soliciting requirements, identifying and documenting the problem statement, and developing a solution that meets the customer’s needs Experience extracting data and developing data models Ability to think outside-the-box design and implementing solutions Excellent written communication and presentation skills Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Self-starter, strong bias for action in highly ambiguous environment Fluent in Python writing scripts that extract and transform data from various source systems Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Experience with hierarchical data structures and recursive processing techniques Development experience building and supporting ETL pipelines Experience working with and supporting AWS products Experience working with Redshift, PostgreSQL, Git Repository Familiar with dbt, Databricks, Dagster, Tableau, Flask Familiar with manufacturing, PLM tools, and supply chain operations Experience with JIRA, Gitlab and Confluence Business domain knowledge in procurement, supply chain, design engineering, manufacturing, aerospace The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
