Description: As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will directly support Blue Origin’s success through skilled management of the development and administration of appropriate standards and tools for systems engineering disciplines including systems architecture, systems integration, trade studies, requirements development and decomposition, verification approaches, configuration management, gated reviews, systems safety, and technical performance metric management. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. Responsibilities: Champion technical processes, best practices and tool development for system engineering and product development including: requirements capture and flow-down, preliminary design, critical design, product realization, design verification testing, system integration, qualification, certification, delivery, and operations. Establish, monitor, document and improve processes specific to systems engineering. Act as the negotiator between multiple and sometimes conflicting interests in order to make sure the organization as a whole is optimized Work with internal customers and tool developers to develop requirements and implement organizational systems and programs. Represent the Systems Engineering team in technical reviews and failure investigations Chair/manage SE working group(s) Develop strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) integration, analysis and verification Mentor and educate Blue Origin employees on systems engineering processes and methods. Develop and present training materials. Qualifications: Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space! B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or other technical field 5 years of systems development, project management experience, and/or process improvement experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively in and lead teams, good execution and coordination skills Highly knowledgeable of systems engineering practices, integration processes, and mission/safety critical systems Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness and success from previous assignments and working with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams. Self-directed and balance several tasks at one time Support up to 10% domestic travel to engage key stakeholders and support training. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
