Dimensional Inspector/Supervisor (B and C Shift)

This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes.

In this role, you'll supervise the production operations team overseeing all functions of planning, scheduling, demands, assembly, and operations. You'll implement strategies meant to improve the organization's financial performance and driven positioning through continuous improvement of production-related processes. You'll also identify manufacturing processes or procedures that could benefit from process improvement or efficiency optimization and approves the implementation of changes.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the work center operations overseeing all functions of planning, scheduling, prioritizing, inspecting and operations.
• Support surge inspection of hardware when necessary.
• Identifies inspection processes or procedures that could benefit from process improvement or efficiency optimization and approves the implementation of changes.
• Conduct performance reviews of employees.
• Mentor others and is responsible for the accuracy of the work of others through periodic review.
• Responsible for establishing workstation assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees.
• Communicate with other teams for schedule status to ensure meeting customer expectations.
• Provide first level customer concern support to employees regarding HR issues (employee relations, worker's compensation, disciplinary actions, timecards, PTO requests.
• Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and implementing change to improve process, reduce cycle and setup times.
• Ensure all team members follow work instructions, quality requirements and processes.
• Provide continued training and skills development for team members, and mentor early career team member.
• Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design and specification requirements.
• Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Develops relationships within and outside the team and acts as prime contact on inspections requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications

• Available to support B Shift (3:00 pm to 1:00 am) or C Shift (5:00 am to 5:00 pm).
• 5 years of minimum experience inspecting aerospace components precision hand Tools, Articulating Romer ARM and/or CMMs.
• Troubleshooting, Root cause and corrective action analysis experience.
• Understand the department KPI's metrics to improve performance.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-2018 standard.
• Strong communication skills with a heavy customer focus.
• Must have a continuous improvement attitude.
• Clear understanding of production versus development environments.
• Familiar with use of personal computers.
• Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $42.62-$59.67
