Job Summary:
The IT Manager works with the COO to implement the strategic plan of the IT Department in accordance with the organizational strategic plan, and ensures its effective and efficient execution. They work collaboratively with all departments to assess technical needs and ensure solutions that support business objectives. This leader oversees Managed Service Provider relationships and ensures the organization meets all audit requirements. The IT Manager ensures the security of protected health information across all the organization’s technologies.

Essential Functions:
- Assist the COO in developing the overall strategic planning, organizing and execution of IT functions across the organization.
- Direct IT operations to meet internal requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.
- Identify, research, evaluate, and recommend short- and long-term technology solutions that support Blue Ridge Risk Partners business objectives.
- Interface with internal staff and Managed Service Providers regarding IT concerns around network, virtual desktops, information management, data systems, and other requirements and recommend solutions that address concerns.
- Ensure Blue Ridge Risk Partners meets standards for annual security and networking audits. Evaluate, analyze and audit production systems, processes, and equipment, and help develop and implement solutions to aid with the continuity of operations.
- Communicate directly with senior management on a regular basis and participate in regular managers’ meetings.
- Maintain effective communications with vendors, peers and internal staff in support of assigned projects.
- Participate in the identification of vulnerabilities and their mitigation.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures that address access, use, and disclosure of electronic protected health information.
- Ensure documentation is created and maintained as it relates to systems design, system configuration, testing and evaluation, and network configuration.
- Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of disaster recovery procedures for critical systems.
Travel to various locations to assist with equipment implementation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing, to receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
- Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
- Knowledge of insurance products preferred.
Education and Experience:
- Experience with Applied Systems strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within IT
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an IT manager or Systems Administrator. Experience in an insurance brokerage preferred.
- Experience in developing and testing disaster recovery procedures for full production to ensure continuity of operations a plus.
- Experience with mobile workforce management.
- Experience with cloud-based applications/management.
Physical Requirements:

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, listen and observe. Specifically, the employee must be able to communicate clearly on the telephone with others.
- This position frequently communicates with clients who have inquiries about their policy, invoicing, and claims. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. This includes repeating motions that involve the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Position may require the employee to ascend and/or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like.
- High stress, fast-paced environment with a high volume of work to be completed daily.
- Limited physical effort required or exposure to physical risk. However, must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
