Your Role:
As the Bookkeeper you will ensure accuracy with our company accounting, including but not limited to our AR/AP, financial statements such as P&L, Balance Sheet, and any financial reporting. The person most successful in this role will never settle for the status quo or act complacent, but rather always striving for greater and thinking What’s Next? You’ll get the opportunity to work hand in hand with our incredible financial team at Rehmann, a regional accounting firm and report to our Director of Finance.
In the 1st month, you will…
· Work closely with other business leaders to understand the nuances of the departments and agency.
· Serve as the primary interface to the Finance Department.
· Familiarize yourself with the company processes as they relate to Finance and daily operations of the Department.
· Begin to manage the full A/P process.
·Reviewing General Ledger for accuracy.
· Providing daily cash management support.
Sharpen your skills in Month 2 by…
· Completing all aspects of the monthly client invoicing cycle.
· Working daily within our accounting system to ensure accuracy.
· Conducting monthly accounting close and account reconciliations.
· Producing accurate and timely financial statements.
Execute in Month 3 by...
· Providing ad hoc financial reports to senior management.
· Calculating quarterly commissions.
· Creating Accrual based accounting entries as needed.
· Owning the A/R process and collections to maintain established metrics.
·Drive the preparation and review of ad hoc financial reports.
Desired Skills & Experience
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
· Strong working knowledge of GAAP
· Experience in Payroll accounting
· Proficient in Google & Microsoft Office Suite; especially in Excel
·Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality regarding sensitive matters
· Knowledge of Quickbooks Online
· Self-driven with the ability to work independently
· Acute attention to detail and high level of organization
· Critical thinking and problem solving skills
· Excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills
·Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to foster/maintain relationships across multiple businesses and organizations.
