Manufacturing Engineer

Bluehawk Consulting is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our client, an aerospace leader. Our client is making space travel possible, and your work will directly support putting people, research, and products safely in space.
Responsibilities
  • Develop procedures, techniques, work instructions, materials and processes, supply chain, nonconformance reporting and resolution, and obsolescence issues.
  • Closely manage quality through the build sequence of hardware, throughout the assembly process.
  • Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide final approval for manufacturing.
  • Design proper material handling to protect hardware throughout the build process.
  • Manage hardware configuration and maintain pedigree throughout the entire build process.
  • Define and support repair and rework activities.
  • Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified & deploy corrective actions.
  • Mentor and lead other Manufacturing Engineers to support day to day tasks and assignments.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5 years direct manufacturing/manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Proven ability to develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define assembly methods.
  • Demonstrated ownership in your area of responsibility.
  • Ability to support scheduled work shift (we rotate shifts occasionally) and work off-shift (2nd or 3rd shifts), extended hours, and weekends if/when vital.
  • Clear understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to develop processes compliant with industry quality systems such as AS9100.
  • Customer focused with a proven ability to work cooperatively with teams of diverse skills across large geographic distances.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or National, U.S. Permanent Resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a Refugee or granted asylum.

Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.

Salary Range for this position: $94,000 - $104,000
