BluePearl’s support center in Tampa is currently seeking an experienced Data Scientist. As the Data Scientist, you will work in a highly collaborative fashion as a core member of the data team to identify business problems and solve them by using various numerical techniques, algorithms, and models in statistical modeling, machine learning, operations research, and data mining. You will be responsible for the analysis of pet health & treatment information, obtained from various sources, including clinical, financial, and demographic data to find patterns and build models that will help improve profitability, our customer’s experience, improve processes, and mitigate risks. As the Data Scientist, you will: Work in all phases of building, deploying, and evaluating machine learning applications. Develop complex algorithms and statistical predictive models and determine analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes. Perform structured and unstructured data analyses to solve multiple and complex business problems. Apply analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques. Manage large and complex analytical projects from data exploration, model building, performance evaluation, and testing Fulfill other related duties as assigned Other duties as assigned Education/Experience Master’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Economics, Business Analytics, or similar. 5 years of computer systems experience, 5 years of experience working with data systems and data analytics, 2 years of working in a data scientist role Requirements Requires Oracle, Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Suite, Power BI experience Proficiency in programming in R, Python, and SQL, machine learning/AI methodologies, and knowledge of software engineering practices Ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and present findings clearly and concisely. Proven problem-solving skills, project management skills, and exceptional organizational skills Articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exposure to business intelligence tools and data visualization. Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated. Attention to detail is imperative. Why BluePearl?  Our passion is pets.
