We do this by leveraging our one-of-a-kind drug discovery platform to discover, develop and work to bring highly selective kinase inhibitors to patients globally. This prolific scientific platform has enabled Blueprint Medicines to build a pipeline of novel therapies that span three distinct areas of medicine: genomically defined cancers, rare diseases and cancer immunotherapy.

As Blueprint Medicines evolves into a fully integrated global company with multiple commercial products, we are seeking a growth-oriented communications professional to help us advance strategic Corporate Affairs programs for both external stakeholders and employees. The Communications Specialist will partner within Corporate Affairs to take on a broad range of projects in corporate, product and employee communications as well as investor relations.

 

The candidate will play a vital role in supporting an evolving digital and social media strategy, helping drive corporate visibility and contributing to communications initiatives that align with key program objectives. An additional focus will be managing internal communications projects that effectively engage employees. The right candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and be eager to learn and grow professionally. The role will require exceptional communications skills, a work style that is organized and detail-oriented, and a keen interest in performing a diverse range of responsibilities. The Communications Specialist will be based in Cambridge and report to the Associate Director of Product Communications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of global digital and social media strategy aligned with key company objectives
  • Manage social media channels and company website updates, ensuring digital content effectively reflects the corporate brand and resonates across global audiences, and facilitating content reviews
  • Contribute to corporate visibility initiatives across communications channels that position Blueprint Medicines as an industry thought leader
  • Collaborate within Corporate Affairs on efforts to expand communications activities globally, in support of the company’s growing International operation.
  • Provide support on a variety of cross-functional activities, including for media, digital influencers and investor relations
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director of Product Communications on key milestone and launch communications activities, as well as additional Corporate Affairs initiatives supporting program objectives
  • Partner with the Associate Director of Internal Communications on activities that engage and inform employees and enhance our culture, including the company-wide e-newsletter and internal event planning
  • Maintain strong knowledge of the company’s business, from R&D to commercial, to inform external and internal communications activities
  • Oversee internal calendars that organize key external and employee communications activities across the Corporate Affairs team
  • Collect and disseminate key industry/program insights, including from media/social media monitoring reports and industry publication subscriptions, to the broader organization
  • Conduct Corporate Affairs team operations and administrative activities, including by maintaining schedules, distributing agendas and developing minutes for team meetings, supporting the management of vendors, budgets and Purchase Orders in collaboration with team owners, and uploading press releases

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a track record of academic excellence
  • Experience in communications within a healthcare company and/or at a public relations firm is a plus
  • Understanding of biopharma industry, including drug development and commercialization, is a plus
  • Exceptional communications expertise, including strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to translate challenging concepts into messages that resonate effectively with key audiences
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of MS SharePoint is a plus
  • Deep understanding of the evolving social media landscape
  • Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative team environment; strong interpersonal skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent project management, research and organizational skills; strong attention to detail
