Your goals, ideas and perspective can help shape our future – we look forward to hearing them!   Job DescriptionThe primary function of the Quality Control Technician is to perform quality checks of the product and to support all quality department related activities.Perform daily QC checks. (perform by operators) spot check.Perform Quality Plan data entry.Perform ongoing testing for research and development.Paint trial assistance and related quality testing Weathering testingKnowledge of Power-Points and Excel SpreadsheetsWet section titrations and records keepingPerform roll changes on pretreat coater headsOrganize and maintain production run hard copies for each color runInspect material being produced on the paint lineRecord defects found in material on shift defect sheetCommunicate with shift supervisor and operators when adjustments need madeMaintain certificates for ISO calibration vendorsPersonnel training as needed (example-spill drill)Spill clean-up if needed.Archive samples.  (When needed)Assist the Quality Engineer on projects and aspects of the quality management system.Environmental inventory (monthly)Other Duties AssignedQualificationsMinimum Required Education / Skills: High School Education or GED required, good communication skills, basic math skills.Minimum Required Experience:  1 year experience in a plant/factory.  Previous experience using measuring equipment required.Equipment / Tools Used: Computer system, various computer programs, Oracle database, dry film gauge, wet film gauge, viscosity cup, pH meter (if needed), profile gauge, gloss meter, scales and balances, etc. Calibration equipment.  Metal shear.  Waste disposal and clean-up equipment's.  Forms and records.  Additional InformationThe preceding job responsibilities and tasks were designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by associates in this job.  It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all job duties and responsibilities required of associates assigned to this job.  Associates may be required to perform other duties as assigned.  Additional job competencies, individual goals, and performance measurements are set at the department level.The benefits are just as rewarding as the work at BlueScope.  To support our goal, we offer a total compensation plan and an outstanding benefits package that includes health insurance, life insurance, short and long term disability, paid time off, and retirement. EEO Employer/M/F/Disabled/Protected VeteranBlueScope is an equal opportunity employer.  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, status, as a protected veteran, among other things, or status as a qualified individual with disability. #LI-Onsite
