We’re seeking a future team member for the role of OTC Pricing Analyst to join our Middle Office Collateral Derivatives Valuations team. This role is located in Orlando, FL .
OTC Derivatives Valuations is a specialized team within Global Operation and Technology Division of Bank of New York Mellon focused on providing pricing and analytics related to Valuation of Over-The-Counter (OTC) Derivatives to our clients. Our clients include Mutual Funds, Institutional Investors, Pension Funds, Hedge Funds, ETFs and other Financial Institutions seeking complex OTC Derivatives to manage the financial risks. We operate from Singapore, India, Poland, Ireland and the United States. The US team is 15 members (and growing) and supports domestic and international institutional clients. In the US, the team operates from New York, NY and Orlando, FL. Our team is primarily responsible for:
Execution of daily pricing, review and analysis tasks related to valuation of OTC Derivatives across Rates, FX, Credit, Equities and Commodities asset classes
Providing analytics and explanation of price movements for OTC derivatives using data and analytics
Facilitating onboarding of new clients and servicing existing clients
Having a deep understanding of the market inputs required for and technical aspects of the valuation of OTC Derivatives
Identification, ownership and execution of strategic projects related to pricing and valuation of OTC Derivatives
Provide valuation expertise and oversight for matters relating to OTC Derivatives to internal and external stakeholders
As an OTC Pricing Analyst within the US team, you will own and drive the processes required for valuation, analysis and production of pricing for OTC Derivatives. You will partner with senior colleagues and be actively involved in analysis, investigation and explanation of price changes due market data, Greeks and other valuation dimensions required for pricing of OTC Derivatives by querying our pricing database. Apart from the daily pricing activities, you will also be actively involved in strategic project management and execution, developing tools and capabilities to enable valuation analytics and process efficiencies.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Under direct guidance, works with internal and external datasets and client reference data and provides analysis in the development of statistical, financial and/or econometric models for analyzing asset performance, securities data, derivative pricing, risk exposure or other sophisticated concepts. Provides analytical support and prepares drafts of standard and ad hoc reports for assigned area.
With general guidance, supports assigned area with basic statistical and quantitative analyses. May perform or oversee data management activities in support of more senior quantitative colleagues. Runs models, looks for exceptions, takes corrective action.
Builds knowledge of technology tools used to conduct analyses. Applies techniques such as querying and macro development to extract data for populating models.
Builds knowledge of processes and products and which analyses, methodologies and approaches best support assessment of performance, risk, or valuation.
Interprets findings and prepares initial drafts of standard reports.
No direct reports. Primarily responsible for the accuracy and quality of own work. Work contributes to the achievement of team goals.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree in quantitative analysis is preferred.
Up to three (0-3) years of experience is preferred.
Experience in quantitative finance and technology is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics.
Up to three years of experience specifically in the Finance, Analytics, or Statistical fields.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in high-pressure environment.
Proficiency in using Microsoft packages, particularly Access.
Proficiency in building visualizations and analytics using Microsoft Excel and/or Tableau.
Proficiency in programming using Python, Pandas, working with Jupyter Notebooks and related libraries.
