We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Production Services Support to join our Technology Services Group team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA United States - Hybrid (3 days in office and 2 days work from home).
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Confluent Kafka platform setup, maintenance, upgrades.
- Hands on experience with Kafka Brokers. broker sizing, topic sizing, h/w sizing, performance monitoring, broker security, topic security, consumer/producer access management (ACL).
- Implementation exp. on access controls and authorization (like SASL, JaaS config, Kerberos, OAuth, Trust KeyStore) mechanisms to protect Kafka Infrastructure
- Hands on experience with Schema Registry.
- Hands on experience with KSQL DB and understanding of underlying implementation and functions.
- Hands on experience with Kafka connectors and understanding of underlying implementation.
- Proficient understanding of Kafka client Producer and consumer functioning
- Ability to design and implement technical solutions for the Kafka on prem must. Experience working in Azure cloud.
- Well versed with Automation and monitoring tools for Kafka (ansible, ansible tower)
- Proactively monitor and setup alerting mechanism for Kafka Cluster and supporting hardware to ensure system health and maximum availability.
- The resources will be working as 24/7 support for the Kafka service. They will be handling support questions, resolving production issues, And RCA analysis, maintenance upgrades to Kafka clusters and developing automation as needed.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Under graduation or master’s degree
- 8 years of overall experience, 4 years of Kafka.
- Kafka API support experience 2 years
- Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry
- Confluent Rest Proxy, Ksql-DB.
- Kafka in public cloud (Azure)
- Splunk logging
- Java (Kafka JMS based experience min 2y required)
