What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Laborer position at Bob Larkin Construction Inc?
As a Construction Laborer (Labor Work, Clean-Up) you will be responsible for keeping the jobsite free of debris while reclaiming usable materials. It will be your responsibility to remove the debris from the site taking it to the landfill or the construction yard. You will also position and setup the jobsite with required materials for construction.
Specific Responsibilities
· Cleans and prepares construction sites by removing debris to eliminate possible hazards.
· Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the locations, according to project plans or specifications.
· Pickup and transport building materials form construction yard or suppliers delivering the materials to the job site.
· Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.
· Builds or takes apart bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
· Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
· Sets up and tends to equipment and machines used in construction.
· Follows construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers.
· Assists craft workers with their duties Construction laborers and helpers work on almost all construction sites, performing a wide range of tasks varying in complexity from easy to difficult.
· May carry tools and materials or help set up equipment.
· Information gathering by observing, receiving and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources such as peer team members, subcontractors, trades and customers.
· Communicate with supervisors, beers or subordinates by providing information to them via mobile devices, written form, text messages, company software package or in person.
Specific Requirements
· 1-3 years of experience in commercial and/or residential carpentry.
· Ability to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans and other specifications required by the client for information pertaining to the type of material required to get job done.
· Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation. This includes waring common protective or safety equipment such as Safety Shoes, Glasses, Gloves, Hearing Protection and Hard Hats as required.
· Performing General Physical Activities. Performing activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
· Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, and rain).
· Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and awkward sizes without assistance.
· High standard of integrity and professionalism.
· Drug free at all times.
· Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.'
