What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drilling hand position at Bobcat?
Looking for motivated hard working individuals to help get tasks done. Bobcat is primarily a electrical substation and transmission line contractor. You will be properly trained in this line of field by us before working. You would be part of the drilling division and would be around texas and neighboring states at times. Driller operator helper is essentially an entry forman position where you are To follow instructions from site supervisor in daily tasks, using a pipe wrench and shovel regularly and handling the drill steel, helping keep the drill fluids serviced, keeping the drill supplied, etc. It is a very physically demanding job. When drilling operations aren’t going on that day you will assist in picking up material, pouring concrete, move dirt with backhoe; skid steer. You must be very familiar using slurry method of drilling as well as knowledgeable of Czm, lodrill, Tacoma drill rigs. It also is a job that is done outside in most weather conditions except a lightning storm. Our work is also executed outside of Weslaco tx more than 95% of the time. While traveling, we provide you with 100 dollars a day perdiem. We like to scheudle 10 10 hr days then get 4 days off. you will be traveling with operator in company provided truck. Very Seldomly would you need your own personal vehicle to travel for work.
You must be in good physical condition and be capable of lifting and bending and able to lift and carry 80 lbs of hoses and or drilling teeth buckets; as well as be able to tolerate the travel and outdoor work. Starting pay for driller helper will typically range from $17 -$20 per hour, depending on relevant experience and or certifications. A drill operator will typically range between $22-$26 an hr. After a 90 day probation period, we provide free health insurance. And offer dental and vision.
