POSITION SUMMARY:
Bocar US, is seeking a skilled and focused Facilities Technician to join the team in Tanner, Alabama. As a Facilities Technician you are a member of a high-end technology and quality-driven automotive company that produces high-pressure aluminum die casting.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and support the Facilities Manager with the daily operations in a 320,000 square ft. facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to compliance with company policies.
- Basic knowledge of OSHA and EAP regulations.
- Assist with the development and monitoring of Preventative Maintenance Program for all facilities related equipment and systems.
- Perform minor building maintenance tasks as required.: plumbing, electrical, air filters, etc.
- Assist with analysis - Determine risk and hazards associated with production process; ensuring processes are operational and effective.
- Assist in conducting evaluations and making recommendations regarding the potential fire hazards of building, finish goods, chemicals and production equipment.
- Assist with coordinating tornado and fire drills.
- Assist with maintaining fire prevention system to assure National Fire Protection Association and Fire Marshall compliance.
- Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment. Report findings and corrective actions to Facilities Manager.
- Responsible for the development and supporting expertise in areas such as: Soft water and waste water systems, Compressed air systems, fire protection, central vacuum system, process-cooling system, ventilation, air conditioning, central lubrication system and BA (building automation systems).
- Perform other duties as requested by Facilities Manager.
REQUIREMENTS (including educational requirements)
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience and/or equivalent military experience and/or training that includes but not limited to.: troubleshooting, maintenance of electrical systems and components, heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, compressed air systems, water softener systems, vacuum systems, power distribution and building automation systems.
- Trained on safe operation of powered industrial lift trucks and the use of fall protection.
- Trained on operation of forklifts
- Ability to read and interpret building drawing.
- Problem-solving and project management skills
- Detailed oriented
- Must have a basic knowledge of Fire codes and regulations.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency is using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
