The Information Governance Manager is part of the Global Information Governance (IG) team within the Legal function of Boehringer Ingelheim. This role helps to implement the strategy of the IG program through business partnering, communications creation and execution, and program monitoring and oversight. The incumbent will use best practice information governance knowledge to work with the business to identify opportunities for efficiency creation and increased compliance with relevant Information Governance policies.
These positions can be based out of our Ridgefield, CT or Duluth, GA locations and have a flexible hybrid onsite work schedule 2-3 days per week dependent upon business needs.
Compensation Data
This position offers a base salary typically between $$111.000 to $183,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Information Governance related industry certifications (CRM, IGP, CIGO, etc.) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience desired, preferably in developing and providing IG guidance and support in a related industry or legal setting.
- Advanced time management and analytical skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office365 products

- Demonstrated knowledge of information governance best practice, electronic record keeping, information security and data privacy standards; ISO 15428, ISO 27000 series, HIPAA, U.S. state Privacy Acts, EU General Data Protection Regulation, etc. as they apply to the management and protection of information assets.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Business alignment and stakeholder management: Use IG best practice knowledge to lead activities with the business to implement requirements from related information governance policies.
- Subject Matter Expert for IG related procedure requirements and best practices: Respond to questions, provide advice on different aspects of the Information Governance policies and procedures.
- Policy and Procedure Review and Maintenance: Provide best practice analysis and input to the update process for the U.S. and Global IG policies and procedures.
- Communications, education and awareness: Create and conduct in person as well as virtual training to expand understanding and buy in to the business.
- Program compliance oversight: develop and use KPIs to monitor the information governance maturity of the various operating units
- Process planning, development, implementation and maintenance: work with the business to create sustainable process to manage their records and information.
