Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Systems Engineer to join our SoCal Advanced Concepts organization based in Long Beach, CA.
The Advanced Concepts team develops future aircraft concepts and technologies for the commercial aviation market. As a Systems engineer you will develop knowledge, analysis, and predictive models of the production system necessary to build Boeings future aircraft.
Position Responsibilities:
- Acquires information from internal and external sources on existing production system and future production system improvements
- Direct and execute analysis on the production system, supplier base, and processes
- Direct and execute aircraft level trade studies as part of a multidisciplinary conceptual aircraft design team
- Perform analysis on cost as an independent variable (CAIV) for both recurring and nonrecurring cost
- Present findings to leadership
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the listed location. Some telecommuting option may be available with manager approval.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
- Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering.
- 3 years of experience in a related field
- Experience in the following areas:
- Systems thinking (1 or more years experience)
- Trade study experience (1 or more years experience)
- Manufacturing processes (2 or more years experience)
- Ability to communicate with diverse audiences
- Experience leading, organizing, and resolving cross-divisional problems, while working under minimal direction.
- Travel: Up to 10%-20% (as needed) to interface onsite with production teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aircraft production systems
- Knowledge of aircraft certification requirements
- Familiarity with MS Project and Microsoft Business Intelligence tools
- Familiarity with data analytics tools such as SQL, R, and/or MATLAB
- Familiarity with data visualization tools including PowerPivot or Tableau
- Comfortable presenting to senior leadership up to the executive level
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master 3 years' related work experience, or Bachelor 5 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range Experienced: $104,550 - $141,450
