The Boeing Company is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer (Level 4) to support the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) team in USA - Auburn, WA.

This Position will support Fabrication Core Quality Engineering Statement of Work in Auburn, WA.

The Senior Quality Engineer will be working with cross-functional/cross-business unit teams across the Fabrication division to improve the Quality Management System health. The ideal candidate will partner with other engineering functions to ensure compliance to our regulatory and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work independently and in the team. The candidate must also be able to communicate clearly within the team and cross-functionally in order to ensure compliance to quality expectations. The statement of work is both technical as well as Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
  • Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Develops and implements corrective actions.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 10 years of Quality Engineer experience.
  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting complex Engineering Drawings.
  • Experience in Root Cause Corrective Action activities.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience in various Risk Assessment methodologies (DFMEA/DRA and PFMEA), SPC, MSA, GD&T.
  • Six Sigma (DMAIC) Green Belt and or Black Belt Certification.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certification.

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD 4 years' related work experience, Master 7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $ 116,450 - $ 157,550
