The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Space and Launch Division, is seeking Systems Engineers to join us in working on the Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS)/Red LAN programs located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Our team supports Systems Engineering, Satellite Operations, sustainment, and product development. These are classified Space Force mission programs, critical to national defense in the area of Space Domain Awareness (SDA). We work directly with our Space Force customers in their Satellite Operations Center and at the Boeing SBSS/Red LAN Depot in Colorado Springs, Colorado to ensure the operations and sustainment of these national assets.
Position Overview:
The Systems Engineer will be a part of a small high-performing team that is engaged in key USG proprietary space programs working in the area of Space Domain Awareness (SDA). These are US Space Force operational assets and networks that are operated at Schriever SFB (SSFB), located 15 miles from the Boeing program depot which provides operational and sustainment support to the programs, and office space for the Boeing Team. This position requires routine local travel to the operational location at SSFB to interface with our customer and the Boeing team members directly supporting day to day mission execution.
This position will support general Systems Engineering activities for these critical national defense programs. This position works directly with and assists the Boeing SBSS/Red LAN Program Lead Engineers and program senior SEIT leadership with; program scheduling, discrepancy reporting and resolution, mission activities, system test, and anomaly resolution. Coordinates and communicates directly with the government operations customer, and internal program offices in the accomplishment of their day-to-day tasks.
Position Responsibilities:

Develop and update operations test procedures to support satellite, system, and operational testing.

Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.

Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.

Manage Discrepancy Reports (DR).

Updates and maintains the Master Program Schedules

Coordinates the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination.

Provide engineering support for customer satellite mission and network operations.

Support 24/7 engineering response for anomaly resolution.

Perform detailed technical document reviews.

Use an enthusiastic, hands-on approach to work.

Resolve cross-functional technical issues.

Negotiate change requests with internal leadership and customer review boards.

Manage priorities and improve processes in a small team environment.

Respond to rapidly changing customer requirements.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active/current Top-Secret U.S. Security Clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartment Information (TS/SCI) security clearance and program access (post-start). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

5 years or more of experience with systems engineering.

3 years of more of experience with Department of Defense Programs
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master 1 year's related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $119,850 - $162,150
